First edition, first printing. A paperback edition published a year before the hardback version. The book has grey covers, the front cover marred by red biro scribbles and also has an outer jacket, the same as used for the hardback. This is in poor condition with the spine largely missing. The content of the edition is the same as the hardback except that it lacks the appendices.
